The Automated People Mover (APM) at Hong Kong International Airport is a free, driverless electric train sThe Automated People Mover, or APM, at Hong Kong International Airport is a free, driverless electric train system.
Its main purpose is to transport passengers quickly and efficiently between the Midfield Concourse and the main Terminal 1 building.
For arriving passengers, if your flight lands at the Midfield Concourse, you’ll take the APM back to Terminal 1 to reach immigration and baggage claim.
Baggage Claim Hall
You’ll enter a spacious, brightly lit hall with multiple baggage carousels.
Large electronic displays throughout the area show flight numbers and their corresponding carousel numbers.
Simply find your flight on the screen, locate your carousel, and collect your luggage.
Exits A and B
Once you’ve collected your bags, follow the signs toward customs.
After clearing customs—green for “nothing to declare,” red for “goods to declare”—you’ll see two main exits ahead: Exit A and Exit B.
Exit A leads directly into Arrivals Hall A,
while Exit B takes you into Arrivals Hall B.
These exits help drivers and greeters meet passengers in the correct area.
But don’t worry if you come out the other side—both halls are part of the same long continuous space, and it’s only a short walk between them.
Clear bilingual signage in English and Chinese makes the entire process from baggage claim to the exit simple and stress-free.
After meeting your driver in the arrivals hall, you’ll be escorted to your vehicle.
Before pickup, our dispatcher confirms your luggage count to ensure there’s enough room for both your bags and your comfort.
Once the luggage is loaded, relax and enjoy the ride as we take you safely to your destination.
