Chiang Mai International Airport is a relatively small airport, consisting of a Domestic Terminal and an International Terminal.

Here is the arrival process after landing at Chiang Mai Airport.

After leaving the aircraft, simply follow the yellow “Arrivals” signs. There are bilingual signs along the way, making it easy for travelers to find the immigration hall.

At immigration, first-time visitors to Thailand should proceed to the staffed immigration counters. Travelers with eligible e-passports who have previously completed biometric registration may be able to use the automated immigration gates.

Before arrival, all foreign visitors are required to complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card within three days of entering Thailand. The form can be completed online free of charge. It is recommended to save a screenshot or digital copy for reference.

At immigration, passengers will present their passport and Thailand Digital Arrival Card. Facial recognition and fingerprint verification are also required. The entire process usually takes only a few minutes.

After clearing immigration, proceed to the baggage claim area and locate the correct carousel according to your flight number.

Next, pass through customs inspection. If you have nothing to declare, follow the Green Channel. Passengers carrying restricted items, special goods, or cash exceeding the permitted limits should use the Red Channel and make a declaration.

There are two common ways to meet your airport pickup driver.

Option One: The driver will be waiting at the International Arrivals Exit holding a sign with the passenger’s name. After collecting your luggage, simply walk out of the arrivals area and meet your driver.

Option Two: Exit the terminal through Exit 7. The driver will be waiting outside Door 7 of the International Terminal. After leaving the building, meet your driver at the designated pickup point and continue your journey into Chiang Mai.
