The Longji Rice Terraces are a popular destination for international visitors to Guilin.
The distance from Guilin city center to the ticket checkpoint for the Longji Rice Terraces is approximately 100 kilometers, and the drive usually takes around two hours under normal traffic conditions.
One tip for avoiding traffic during peak travel seasons is to set off early in the morning.
In this video, we’ll show you the journey by private car from Guilin to Jinkeng Dazhai Village and Ping’an Village, two popular areas of the Longji Rice Terraces.
Whether you’ve purchased your tickets in advance or plan to buy them on arrival, the first stop is the tourist center, where your tickets will be checked.
At the Y-shaped intersection, we continue straight for another 13 kilometers toward Jinkeng Dazhai Village.
After passing through the ticket checkpoint at Jinkeng, we arrive at the Jinkeng parking lot.
At Jinkeng Dazhai Village parking lot, you can buy the cable car ticket on spot or ask your driver to buy the cable car in advance to avoid possible line there. The Jinkeng cable car takes you to the number three lookout point, Golden Buddha Peak.
This enclosed cable car is a very helpful on a rainy day. The ride itself provides a good bird eye view of the Jinkeng Village rice terrace.
