Air China Flight CA824 is a direct flight from Chiang Mai International Airport to Beijing Capital International Airport.
Based on the recommendation of our local driver in Chiang Mai, we arranged a hotel pickup at 9:00 PM for the 11:00 PM departure.
At Shangri-La Chiang Mai, the hotel lobby is located on the second floor. After meeting the driver, we headed to the airport and arrived about 25 minutes later.
Chiang Mai International Airport is a relatively small airport with only one terminal building and two levels.
Here is the departure process after arriving at Chiang Mai Airport.
On the ground floor, passengers complete check-in and baggage drop-off.
After entering the terminal, look for the blue flight information screens overhead. First, find your airline’s check-in counter and collect your boarding pass. Then follow the red markings on the floor to the nearby baggage drop-off area to check your luggage.
After check-in, proceed to the second floor for passport control and boarding procedures.
The first step is passport inspection.
Next is the security check. The airport has only three security screening lanes. Passengers are required to remove jackets and shoes and place them in separate trays. Electronic devices such as laptops and mobile phones do not need to be removed from carry-on bags.
After security screening, passengers will go through fingerprint verification before entering the departure area and proceeding to their boarding gate.
