From Shenzhen North Railway Station to Hong Kong West Kowloon station

▪ When passenger travel from Shenzhen North Station to Hong Kong West Kowloon Station, passengers first take the high-speed train and then go through customs.

▪ When travel from Hong Kong back to Shenzhen, passengers first go through customs and then take the high-speed train. It is recommended to arrive at station 1 hour in advance. During holidays and peak travel periods, make sure to leave enough time.

▪ After getting off the train at Hong Kong, passengers can directly transfer to the Hong Kong MTR to Austin Station. After exiting the station, passengers can walk to the Tsim Sha Tsui area.

Tickets are released 15 days in advance. Fastest travel time takes only 18 minutes.

When booking train tickets, there are 2 options at mainland station and select Shenzhen North, not Futian Station to Hong Kong West Kowloon.

Step 2: Prepare Documents Before Departure

Here are Self-service Ticket-Checking Channel Supported documents:

Biometric passport for visa free countries

Chinese ID card and Mainland Resident Exit-Entry Permit for Hong Kong and Macao

Permanent residence permit for foreigners

Residence permit for Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan residents

Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macao Residents

Mainland travel permit for Taiwan residents

Step 3: Process from Shenzhen North to Hong Kong West Kowloon

Arrive at the station 40 minutes in advance for the full process:

Scan Identity document to enter the station → Pass security check → Check the departure screen for the boarding gate displayed.

The entire process with self-service gates will take no more than 10 mins on the normal working day. Follow the platform signs to find the correct train car.

Step 4: Customs Clearance After Arriving in Hong Kong by High-Speed Rail

– Follow the passenger flow → At the first gate, scan your identity document, use fingerprint and facial recognition to pass Mainland China immigration. After successful scanning, the gate will open automatically. Continue walking forward.

– At the second gate, scan your identity document again and use fingerprint plus facial recognition to go through the self-service channel.

– The third checkpoint is Hong Kong immigration. Scan the identity document. After the gate opens, you have officially entered Hong Kong.

Notice

For the return trip, reserve at least 1 hour for customs clearance. Boarding closes 40 minutes before departure.

After entering Hong Kong, you will receive a small entry slip (also called an immigration slip). Be sure to keep it safely, as police officers may randomly check it.
